Hope - Club Scrap Blog Hop

Welcome to the monthly Club Scrap Blog Hop! If you arrived here from the Club Scrap Creates Blog, you are in the right place! If not, I suggest you go there so that you can follow along - a full listing of all the hoppers are on that site.

Today we are celebrating the June Club Scrap Kit - Hope. this is such a beautiful kit! I decided to create a mini album - A Page in a Box - with the kit's contents. The Page in a Box tutorial is one of the mini albums on the Stampbooking CD. (The CD is on sale right now, too, for only $12.95 plus shipping -- that is $5.00 off (a 35% discount). There are 75 tutorials for stamping in your scrapbooks on the CD.* The full list of what is on the CD is here, but make sure to order from the link below for the discount.

In any case, This is was the easiest Page/Box ever! I decided to add the center pop-up picture to add to the dimension. One of my favorite combinations is beach pictures combined with orange paper. The contrast is always stunning! One the box was made, the kit's contents made finishing the page a breeze.

The kids in the pictures are my friend's kids. They are stunning kids - great models! I happen to scrapbook with her frequently, and her pages are always wonderful - after all, her kids are gorgeous! I can't wait to give her this box. I think she will be thrilled.

Now, move onward with the hop: Julie Heyer, the Cape Cod Scrapper, is your next stop. Enjoy the inspiration!

Herringbone One of a Kind

Almost every time I am at a trade show or  teaching a class, someone will ask me what my favorite technique is. Usually, one of the techniques from an upcoming issue holds that spot in my heart temporarily, but I do have to say that the Herringbone Technique (December 2009 Technique Junkie Newsletter) is certainly in my top 10 all time favs. I would even say that it is in my top 5!

This example uses the new in-colors designer paper from Stampin' Up with the Background Basics Stamps and matching die cuts. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up also. The flower was colored using marker blending.

What is YOUR favorite technique?

Washi Tape or Stamps? You decide!

OHHHH I just LOVE playing with my supplies! I had so much fun with my Washi tape and a few new stamp sets I recently acquired. One of these examples of the Snippets Technique from the April/May 2013 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter uses stamps for the Washi tape, and the other is real tape.

The coffee cup stamps, and the tape stamps, are from Stampin' Up. The actual Washi tape is from Recollections.

Of course, the bright-colored sample is Washi Tape - but the other one looks pretty darn close!

Hope you find time to play with YOUR toys supplies.

Triple Embossing - Technique of the Week

The Triple Embossing Technique, from the June/July 2013 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter, is the current Technique of the Week! I intended on posting this on Monday, but life got in the way!

I love this easy technique. The combination of textures is wonderful! I chose to change mine up a bit -- using cardstock instead of Designer Paper. I colored the individual areas with a combination of ink and chalks to highlight the embossed areas. The stamp is from Stampin' Up!

Hope you are playing along with us this week!

Stencil collage - Technique of the week

This is the post that was supposed to happen on Monday, when I announced the Technique of the week. Well, now it is Thursday, and although I wasn't able to post Jackie Kalchert announced the technique for me on the Design Team blog.  After two  consecutive weeks of busy trade shows, I haven't had much of a chance to create! I did set some time away today, though, since I was pining for stamp therapy. The Stencil Collage card (June/July 2013) above is the result of my endeavors.

I used a background collage stamp from Stamp Out Cute and a sentiment from Stampin' Up!, along with the mesh stencil from Club Scrap. (Sorry that there are not any links, I am posting from my iPad and haven't yet figured that out!) I stamped, inked  and cut out extra butterflies from the main image, too, but they are hard to see from the picture. Their wings were pinched up for dimension.

I hope you have had fun with the Technique this week, and love to see all the posts on the ergo up. If you haven't tried it yet - DO! Simple and easy and lovely. It doesn't get better than that!

Welcome to the Hop!

Today is the monthly Club Scrap Blog Hop, and I am glad you are here! Today we are celebrating the June Cape Cod kit, and I have two projects to share with you! If you started on the Club Scrap Creates Blog, you are in the right place. If not, keep in mind that you can access the whole list of hoppers from there at any time.

My first card uses is a Curved Fold card from the Move It CD (which was released in March). I decided to cut into the 12"x 12" paper to use the 10" lighthouse for the focal image. I loved cutting out and stamping the lighthouse images - it took me back to the many, many times that I vacationed on the Cape. If you are familiar with the geography, my in-laws had a house in Chatham (if you are not familiar, it is on the elbow of the Cape). The lighthouse images have particular meaning for me, because the most well-known area on the Cape is the Chatham light.

The second card I made for the hop is also from the Move It CD -- it is an Inside Out Card. The images were colored with Pastel Chalk Pencils. I used the Cape Cod Stencil to add a textural feel to the inside, and I used the netting and charm embellishments on the outside of the card.

I hope you have enjoyed the artwork today! Time to visit Julie Heyer -- The Cape Cod Scrapper. You just know she has something wonderful in store for you.

One last thing. If you would like to enter the drawing for a Move It CD, you can still leave a comment on the Club Scrap Blog on the link HERE (comments on today's post will not be counted; only those on the Club Scrap Blog will be eligible to win). The winner will be announced tomorrow.
Enjoy the hop!

Want a free Move It CD?

Greetings! Just a quick note to let you know that I was the guest blogger on the Club Scrap Blog today -- and we are giving away a Move It Cd from that post. Here is a little teaser:

Head on over and see the post with the full card -- and enter to win the CD from the Club Scrap Blog!

National Scrapook Day Blog Hop

Happy National Scrapbook Day! Today I am happy to be part of the Club Scrap Blog Hop celebrating the day. If you started at the Club Scrap Blog, you are in the right place. If at any time you "get stuck" in the hop, go back to the Club Scrap blog for the next link, since they are all listed there.

Today I decided to create this large tag book from the 3D and Fun Folds CD. I decided to use the Up, Up and Away kit from Club Scrap to make this, um, uplifting tag book.

This is not just a cool little book, but it also makes a great mini album. Hope you enjoyed it!
Your next stop on the hop is Julie Heyer. Enjoy her beautiful work!

I always have my pens...

Pens Pens Pens. You set one down, you lose it. It was like that in our Stamp Show booth UNTIL we added the Paper Rose Pen Set from the Great Gifts CD. Now we never lose a pen!

This makes a great teacher's gift, a gift for an officemate, or even just one for your own desk.

Hope you have a great day!

Baby Step Ladder

I have been trying to refresh the artwork in the Technique Junkie stamp show booth -- we encourage people to pick up and touch the art, and after a while it gets a little grimy. So between Holly Brown, Beth Norman and myself, we have been adding to the artwork in the booth.

The card above is an example of the 5" x 7" Step Ladder card from the 3D and Fun Folds CD. The adorable duck on this is from Sweet Stamps. It's so cute!

Of course, the CD is still available -- it is $17.95 for 70 tutorials. Information can be found here.
Have a great day!

Sparkly Split Negative

Just a quick little card today from the Shimmer Glimmer Sparkle and Shine CD. It is one of the 45 Technique from the CD, which is $14.95. I love this technique and it works well with Foil OR Glitter.

Have a sparkly day!

Spring Chorus Blog Hop

Welcome to the hop! Today is the monthly Club Scrap Blog Hop, and we are celebrating the Spring Chorus April kit. If you arrived here from the CS Blog, you have come to the right place. If not, you may just want to go back there to start again, since the list of all the bloggers are there.

I chose to make the Embellishment Chest from the Technique Junkie Newsletter 3D and Fun Folds CD. I thought the paper and stamps were especially well-suited for this project. The drawers in this chest are big enough to hold A-2 sized cards, as well.

Although I hated to do it, I cut the flowers out of one of the 12" x 12" sheets to wrap around the box top.You can see how they overhang the edge better in the photo on the right.

The next stop on the hop is Julie Heyer. Thanks for stopping by!

Patchwork Friend

I just love Simple and Easy Techniques -- they are so handy for making quick cards with oomph. This card is an example of the Patchwork Technique, one of the 30 techniques on the Simple and Easy Inking Techniques Remix CD.  The technique works really well with these bold stamps from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, don't they? (Did you know that SNS gives a 10% discount to TJ subscribers using the code tjn2013?).

The Simple and Easy Inking Techniques Remix CD is a compilation of the easiest techniques, using the most basic of supplies, from the Technique Junkie Newsletter Archives. The CD is $9.95 and can be ordered on my blog sidebar or on this page:

Want to know what is on the CD? A complete picture list is here:

Hope you enjoy your day!

Move it - Shape it Blog Hop

Welcome! Today we are hosting a Blog Hop to celebrate the launch of the Technique Junkie new sister CDs: Move It and Shape It.. This is the last stop of the hop, so if you arrived here from Tricia O'Bin's blog, you are in the right place! If not, please take a minute to start at the beginning at the TJ Design Team Blog: http://techniquejunkies.blogspot.com. Most of the designers made two items -one from each CD - so you are in for a treat with this hop!

I decided to show you two of my favorites. First, from the Shape It CD, Here is an example of the Folding Screen Card:

I have been hoarding this gorgeous Graphic 45 paper and it was just screaming to be used on this screen. I LOVED cutting it into these pieces to decorate it!

My second card  is an example of the Upright Diamond Fold from the Move It CD:
The gorgeous stamps are from Sweet Stamps. This card folds flat, too.

Each of the CDs has 25 tutorials on it. They may be purchased separately for $9.95 each, or you can buy them together for $17.95. You save on shipping, too! The CDs can be ordered here:

Gift Card Pop Out Desk

Today I am the guest blogger on the Club Scrap Blog, so I thought I would double-whammy you with a companion project! I have a (different) Gift Card Pop Out Desk posted on the Club Scrap Blog - and I have a link on that blog to the tutorial from the Move It CD for how to make the project. It is one of the 25 tutorials on the Move It CD. If you do not have any Technique Junkie CDs, I suggest you go over and click on the link the tutorial is a great example of how ALL TJ CDs are presented.

The Gift Card project here is different from the one on the CS blog. This one uses stamps from a Club Scrap kit from several years back, Toolkit. I paired it with some old Wild Asparagus paper I had in my stash, along with a piece of wood paper that I picked up along the way. Wouldn't this be great with a Home Depot gift card inside?

Here is the outside of the card - I really loved the Duct Tape theme!
If you would like to order the CD - or it's companion CD, Shape It -- you can do so right from my sidebar, or go directly to the Move It - Shape It description page. Each CD is $9.95, but if you buy them both they are only $17.95 - and you save on shipping costs, too.

Make sure you check out the Club Scrap Blog -- have a great day!

Triple Message Shadowbox

Sometimes you just get hit by inspiration and you have to let it out. That is how I felt when I created this tutorial. I love shadowboxes, but I wanted mine to do more -- this one does, times three! This is one of the 25 techniques on the Move It CD: Triple Message Shadowbox. Here is the card with the messages inside:
Pretty enough, right? Then each of the two sides pull out for this:
Isn't that fun? I am actually teaching this technique at two upcoming Rubber Stamp Shows: Stamping by the Sea in Ocean City MD, on April 5th, and the at Stampfest Orlando at the end of June. If you are in the area, check out the websites and come see us!

The Move It CD has 25 tutorials and is $9.95. It has a companion CD, too -- Shape It. That CD has another 25 tutorials on it, and is $9.95 also. If you buy both, they are only $17.95 - and you will save on shipping, too!

There is a link for ordering on the sidebar of this blog, or, if you prefer, you can go to the Move It - Shape It page and order from there.

Have a great weekend!

Cupcake Pull Out Card

Who wants a Cupcake? This fun little project is one of the 25 tutorials from the New Shape It CD. It has a cute little pull-out and is great for Birthdays, Parties, and Valentines day, too!
Information on the Shape It CD is HERE: http://techniquejunkies.com/move-it-shape-it-cds.html
Have a sweet day!
