National Scrapook Day Blog Hop

Happy National Scrapbook Day! Today I am happy to be part of the Club Scrap Blog Hop celebrating the day. If you started at the Club Scrap Blog, you are in the right place. If at any time you "get stuck" in the hop, go back to the Club Scrap blog for the next link, since they are all listed there.

Today I decided to create this large tag book from the 3D and Fun Folds CD. I decided to use the Up, Up and Away kit from Club Scrap to make this, um, uplifting tag book.

This is not just a cool little book, but it also makes a great mini album. Hope you enjoyed it!
Your next stop on the hop is Julie Heyer. Enjoy her beautiful work!

Baby Step Ladder

I have been trying to refresh the artwork in the Technique Junkie stamp show booth -- we encourage people to pick up and touch the art, and after a while it gets a little grimy. So between Holly Brown, Beth Norman and myself, we have been adding to the artwork in the booth.

The card above is an example of the 5" x 7" Step Ladder card from the 3D and Fun Folds CD. The adorable duck on this is from Sweet Stamps. It's so cute!

Of course, the CD is still available -- it is $17.95 for 70 tutorials. Information can be found here.
Have a great day!

Spring Chorus Blog Hop

Welcome to the hop! Today is the monthly Club Scrap Blog Hop, and we are celebrating the Spring Chorus April kit. If you arrived here from the CS Blog, you have come to the right place. If not, you may just want to go back there to start again, since the list of all the bloggers are there.

I chose to make the Embellishment Chest from the Technique Junkie Newsletter 3D and Fun Folds CD. I thought the paper and stamps were especially well-suited for this project. The drawers in this chest are big enough to hold A-2 sized cards, as well.

Although I hated to do it, I cut the flowers out of one of the 12" x 12" sheets to wrap around the box top.You can see how they overhang the edge better in the photo on the right.

The next stop on the hop is Julie Heyer. Thanks for stopping by!

Day 29 - Pop-up Gift Card Holder

Today is Day 29 of the month-long anniversary bash for the Technique Junkie Newsletter. Today we have a couple of stamp sets to giveaway from our dear friends at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!

First, about the card you see above. I used the Pop-up Gift Card tutorial from the 3D and Fun Folds CD to make this fun gift card holder. I love this tutorial -- the gift card is such a pleasant surprise when the card is opened! The main image uses the Emboss around the Image technique from the October 2012 issue, too. Of course, I used Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for this; these are the two sets one lucky winner will receive:

To enter this giveaway, simply leave a comment on this blog post with your name and email address. My random number generator will pick one lucky winner on Wednesday, October 31st. Please note: we are expecting Hurricane Sandy to wipe out our power for several days; if this happens, the winner will be selected as soon as our power is restored.

This winner of these stamps is Susan Guzy - Congrats, Susan!

Luxurious Paper -- Day 22

Wooo Hoo! Today I am so happy to celebrate the Technique Junkie Newsletter 10th Anniversary Bash with one of my favorite companies -- Paper Temptress. Day 22 of our 10th year anniversary bash brings us a $25.00 shopping spree in the Paper Temptress Store!

To celebrate, I made the Double Tea Bag Holder, one of the 70 Tutorials on the 3D and Fun Folds CD.

All of the papers I used on the Teabag Holder are from Paper Temptress. Although all of the papers are exceptional, I especially love the Khaki Crepe Ruched Paper. I have made several items using the Ruched Paper and they are some of the most coveted I have made. The Laser White Glossy that the Sentiment (Kolett Hall Stamps) was stamped on is to-die-for too. And how can you overlook the Spring Larch Glimmer Paper? So very luxurious!

If you have never purchased from Paper Temptress, now is your chance (plus, if you look in my sidebar, you will see a 10% discount for Technique Junkies!). And you can try your luck withe the drawing for the $25.00 shopping spree, too, just by leaving your name and email address on this blog post. I will leave the comments open until Wednesday, October 24th, when my Random Number Generator will select one winner.

What luxury! Good luck.

Jackie Smith is the lucky winner of the gift certificate!

Bash Day 21 - Fancy Gatefold

Welcome to Day 21 of the Technique Junkie Newsletter 10 year Birthday Bash!

Today's card is a Fancy Gatefold Card from the 3D and Fun Folds CD. I love this fold -- it is so pretty in person! I colored the images with Copic Markers. Here is what it looks like closed:

I used the Angle Butterfly Stamps from Class Act/Chapel Road Art Stamps, and they are the stamps we are giving away today:

To take a chance to win these stamps, simply leave your name and email address and as a comment on this post. My random number generator will select one lucky winner on Monday, October 22. Good luck!

Congratulations to Melody Moore, the winner of these stamps!

4 Drawer Easel Box - Day 19

Welcome to Day 18 of the Technique Junkie Newsletter 10th Anniversary Birthday Bash!

Today I am showing you a 4 Drawer Easel Box from the 3D and Fun Folds CD. I love this box -- it is so dimension between the easel, and the drawers on each side. The stamps I used on this easel box are from Sweet Pea Stamps - and they are the stamps we are giving away today:

If you would like to take a chance to win these stamps, simply comment on this post with your email address. My random number generator will select one lucky winner on Monday, October  22. Good luck!

Congratulations to Karen McAlpine, the winner of these stamps!

Double the fun Birthday Bash Day 8

Welcome to Day 8 of the Technique Junkie Newsletter Birthday Bash! Today is "double day". Double - because not only is it TJ's birthday, but it's mine, too!

So...our artwork is a Double Slider (from the 3D and Fun Folds CD). And yes, it IS a birthday card; but it is a birthday card for all of us!

Today's giveaway is a gift for YOU. It's winner's choice today! One lucky winner can choose any Technique Junkie CD, renewal for a year, or a year's subscription. Your choice!

To enter today's giveaway, leave a comment and your email address on this blog post. I will use the random number generator on October 9th to select one lucky winner -- who gets to pick their own prize. Good luck!

All stamps and paper on the Double Slider are from Stampin' Up!

The winner of this Giveaway is Rachelle Emigh -- Congrats, Rachelle!

Birthday Bash - Day Six

Welcome to Day Six of the 10th Anniversary of the Technique Junkie Newsletter! We are giving something away every day in the month of October.

Today I am happy to show you this fun 5" x 7" Stepladder card from the Technique Junkie Newsletter's 3D and Fun Folds CD.  It is one of the 70 tutorials on the CD! It is so easy to make and people just love to receive "stepped" cards.

The stamps on this card are from My Favorite Things - and they are the stamps we are giving away today:

I had so much fun playing with these stamps -- and one lucky winner will too! To enter this giveaway, just leave me a comment on this post with your name and email address. My random number generator will select one lucky winner tomorrow. Now, get "Going!"

Comeback tomorrow for another great giveaway.

UPDATED: THE WINNER OF THESE STAMPS IS MONICA L. CONGRATS!

Zig-Zagged Headless Horseman on an easel...

When I saw this ubercool image from I Brake for Stamps, I was enamored! I love the Legend of Sleepy Hollow and the Headless Horseman, and this image is a fun representation of it. I used a few techniques from the Technique Junkie Newsletter to create this easy easel card, too.

The first, of course, is the Easel Card. We have an Easel Card Tutorial on the 3D and Fun Folds CD.

Second, the background is the Zig-Zag Technique. This can be found on the Stampin' Companion CD. The background was straight lines when I started!

Finally, I colored the image with both Chalk Pastel Pencils and Colored Pencils. A tutorial for using Blending Chalk Pastel Pencils in the June 2011 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter. When I was done, I swiped the piece with Antique Linen and Black Soot Distress Inks. Here's a close up of the coloring:

No Halloween card it worth it's salt without a spider, right? I had some fun with the buttons, too!
Don't forget that Technique Junkies get 10% off at I Brake for Stamps, too -- use Code TJ10 at checkout.  Have a great day!

Final day for hopping inspiration!

Today is Day 5 of the Technique Junkie Blog Hop Extravaganza, and today our featured sponsor is Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps! We have a stamp set giveaway for today from SNS, and, of course, a prize in the grand prize basket, too, so make sure you leave a comment on my blog today to be entered to win both!  Here is the stamp set being given away today:

My card today uses the Pleated Front Technique from the 3D and Fun Folds Paper Craft CD. Did I mention that there are 70 tutorials on this CD? And it is only $17.95 for US and Canadian residents (overseas: $19.95). I hope you can see what a bargain it is after 5 days of hopping!

You might be wondering why I used Sweet 'n Sassy's Christmas Joy Stamp set instead of the one being given away today. It's because my mom loved birds - and especially cardinals -- and I use them any chance I can. It makes me feel warm and loved just to color a cardinal! This stamp is especially pretty and beautiful with Copic Coloring.

Don't forget that tomorrow I will post the names of all of the daily winners, plus I will be posting a picture of the Grand Prize. You will have until Monday, December 5 at 9am EST to enter for the grand prize drawing by commenting on any of MY blog posts from Monday through Friday (from the hop).

If you have been following along already you should have come from Chris Dickinson's Blog. If you did not, start at  the Technique Junkie Blog and go from there.  You won't want to miss any stops along the way. Here are all the hoppers today:

Thanks for stopping by today -- I hope you had fun this week!

Today is Day Four of the Technique Junkie Blog Hop Extravaganza (if you haven't been following along, why don't you take a look at this post),  and today we partner with the talented folks at Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company. I hope you started hopping at the TJ Design Team Blog, but if not, go there now and start fresh!

I made a Fancy Fold-out Card from the 3D and Fun Folds CD to celebrate the hop today. I was really intimidated at first by this technique -- but it was simple as pie! (I did find an error on the tutorial, though, so if you have purchased the Cd and would like the correction to the instructions, email me and I will send it to you: phuntoon@optonline.net.) This is what the card looks like opened up:

Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Company, is sponsoring our giveaway today. The gorgeous stamps I used on my artwork are from the Ice and Snow set -- the set that is being given away to one lucky winner who leaves a comment on my blog! This is what the set looks like:
And don'tcha just love the icicles? They may be my new favorite winter stamps! This is what they look like all "iced-up":
Here is a list of all of the hoppers today -- such talented ladies!

I will be selecting the daily winners on Saturday, then the overall winner will be announced on Monday, December 5th. Good luck!

One last thing! We would love to see what you make with this technique, the free Double Twisted Easel Technique, or any technique from the 3D CD! If you want to play along with us, link up to the hop using the linky tool below. You do NOT need to play along in order to win any prize (you only need to leave a comment). have fun!

Today, I made the Tri-Fold Out Card from the 3D and Fun Folds Paper Crafts CD using luxurious papers from Paper Temptress. The card at the top is closed, and the two pictures below show the card with each of the flaps open:

In person, this card is shimmery, textural, and just plain pretty as a picture. The base of the card uses Alpine Aster Glimmer, and I used Cappuccino Mica/Metallic, Green ruche and Khaki Ruche to compliment it with the layers. You can see hints of the texture and glimmer on the pictures above!

Here is what I created for the hop today:
I used the Freestanding Pop-up Tutorial from the 3D and Fancy Folds CD to create this cute card. The best thing about this? It folds FLAT for mailing!  and it was sooo easy to make -- I had great directions!
I used Stampavie stamps from Classy Cards 'n Such for both the main image and the saying. They are actually one stamp -- I deconstructed it to use the different parts where I wanted them on my card.

If I was your first stop, I urge you to go to the TJ Design Team blog to go through the whole hop -- you will really enjoy the projects and inspiration! It also gives you a chance to see some of the projects from the 3D CD as made by different designers.

Here is the whole list of hoppers for today:

Okay, so start with the Design Teams blog and work your way back. Remember to leave comments for the designers, and especially here -- and good luck!
